I Will Fail

I have lost sleep
alone on my couch
tottering between awake
and asleep.

I will fail.

It is absolute
with no argument
it is truth.

But when I wake up
Everything seems better.

Wrap me in numbness
like a taco
so I can forget it all
and go to a place
where adventure is carried
on every breath
and in every heart.
