So many choices
spread out like an open book
Too sweet
Too Hot
not enough
too much.

Which one is for me?
Which one will make me happy?

when the waitress asks.

The Dating War

Shoot across the bow
at first
just to see what they'll do.

Will they raise surrender?
Or pound cannons with powder
and shrapnel
to tear our sails to canvas confetti?

Maybe the ship is filled with bones
a memorial to humans incessant need
for water
and food
and vitamin C
(not vitamin sea)

We'll find out,
but I'm not really in to that ship anyways.
