Love and Stars

To write of the stars
is to write of love
so many have tried
some have come close
but none have succeeded.

Recycled

Do we really

give away our love?

Or is it just held for a while

until the moment fades

and then ground up

and molded into something new

like those fleeces

made out of old pop bottles.

I'd rather have a fleece anyways.

Next Time

Look out-
because next time
when I fall in love
I will pursue
with reckless abandon.

I've played the mousetrap long enough.

Never Buy a Fake Watch

In an alley of China
I bought a watch
because I needed to tell the time.

It was heavy
and felt like a good fake
and looked nice on my wrist.

Now its 4:10
or 6:45
Depending

Never buy a fake watch
-especially-
when you need to tell time.

Planetery Tango

When two celestial bodies meet
as they travel through the sky-
they have three options:

Sometimes they swirl around each other
like a cosmic slingshot
and one sails into space
faster than when it started.

Sometimes they draw close-
spin around each other for a season
and crash together
becoming one.

Oh so rarely-
do they meet and orbit
around each other
a stellar waltz
into eternity.

As we travel through the sky
what do we want?
To spring from world to world?
To collide and unite?
Or to dance for all time-
through the void, together?

Happy Valentine's Day!

Reruns

I'm watching that show again
It started out good,
but then things changed
No longer the magic that was there there before
And I'm stuck watching
what should inspire
I sink into the couch
I crave something salty
I have to go to the bathroom
If this was the first time I know what I would do
I would just change the channel
but its the same on everyone
M*A*S*H, X-files, Brisco County Junior,
You can get them all on DVD now
in a boxed set
So I pause and decide the easiest thing to do
will be just to fall asleep
and forget the mourning.
