As I bike across
the green velvet of the Palouse
I feel strong
independent
on roads of dirt
and gravel
until I realize
that is not for those
who built the road
I wouldn't get
a quarter mile
and I have to go where they tell me to.

I like that one Berk. Traditionally I have the greatest feeling of freedom from stress when I am on a bike. The road be it dirt or pavement represents the path to freedom of thought and that is the only true freedom I have. So the question then begs to be asked. "What is freedom"? Is it the bike, the road, or the mind?
