Sometimes
we make decisions
by spinning around
until out brain swims
and walk in a direction
based on where our inner ear pulls.
Other times
we pick a road
that seems well trod and safe
-or brambled and precipitous-
Same difference.
Still others
we choose because we love
the land, the river, and the sky
the sun, the snow, and the slicing wind.
